Naturopathy & Yoga
Naturopathy is a holistic healthcare system based on the healing power of nature by incorporating a range of treatments and natural therapies. The underlying belief of naturopathy is that the body can heal itself when provided with the right environment and support by promoting a healthy lifestyle and prevention of disease. At TAPOVANA, the goal of naturopathy is to identify and eradicate the underlying cause of disease by understanding the body, mind, and spirit of the individual. Naturopathy aims at restoring and retaining vitality (‘life-force-energy’) by returning to nature.
The application of elemental therapies in naturopathy is significant since it incorporates panchamahabhutas & incorporates treatments derived from those elements to restore the deficiency or to balance the excess to bring back normalcy, i.e. to restore vitality.
Treatments like Hydrotherapy(Aapas/water) packs, Mudtherapy & Diet therapy (Pruthvi/Earth), Infrared light therapy, (Agni/Fire- Heat), Fasting therapy (Aakash/ Space), Breathing practices (Vayu/Air) and other treatments like Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Therapeutic massage are incorporated in the management of Lifestyle disorders.

This approach to health and wellness has been used for thousands of years and is still popular worldwide. As they promote mental and physical balance, reduce stress levels, and increase self-awareness, yoga and meditation are essential components of Indian naturopathy.

Kids Yoga (50 minutes)
Kids yoga is a specialized form of yoga practice tailored specifically for children. It combines traditional yoga techniques with playful and age-appropriate activities to engage children in a fun and interactive way. Kids yoga classes are designed to promote physical fitness, flexibility, coordination, balance, mindfulness, and emotional well-being in children.
Meditation (30 minutes)

Meditation is a practice that involves training the mind to achieve a state of focused attention, mindfulness, and inner awareness. It is a timeless practice with roots in various spiritual and cultural traditions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and Christianity. However, meditation is also widely practised in secular contexts as a tool for promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and cultivating mental and emotional well-being.

Treatments
Naturopathy treatments encompass a variety of natural therapies and holistic healing modalities aimed at promoting health, preventing illness, and supporting the body’s innate healing ability. At TAPOVANA Naturopathic treatments are based on the principles of naturopathic medicine, which emphasize treating the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – and addressing the underlying causes of illness rather than just managing symptoms.
Therapeutic Yoga (50 minutes)
Therapeutic yoga is a specialized form of yoga practice that is adapted to meet the specific needs of individuals with health challenges, injuries, or medical conditions. It involves using yoga techniques, such as asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness practices, to support and promote healing, rehabilitation, and overall well-being. Therapeutic yoga can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, autoimmune diseases, mental health conditions, and stress-related disorders. It offers a holistic approach to healing and wellness, addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health and promoting self-care, self-awareness, and self-empowerment. If you’re interested in exploring therapeutic yoga, it’s essential to seek guidance from a qualified and experienced instructor who has training in adapting yoga practices for therapeutic purposes and who can provide personalized guidance and support tailored to your individual needs.
Mud Therapy (30 minutes)
Mud is one of the main components in naturopathy. Mudpack enhances blood circulation, and increases metabolic rate, mud has the special ability to dissolve toxins, wipe out impurities, absorb heat, which has a calming and cooling effect, and tone organs and tissues. Overall it facilitates homeostasis.
Acupuncture with stimulation or without stimulation (45 minutes)
The foundation of acupuncture is the idea that there is an energy, or life force, flowing through our bodies. We are in good health when our bodies can easily circulate this energy. However, pain and illness may result from an obstruction in the energy flow. Thin needles are inserted into specific points on the body during acupuncture treatments. These points are situated along energy routes called meridians. It is believed that stimulating these points with needles can release blockages in the energy system and promote equilibrium and well-being. The obstructed energy system of the body is restarted and reset by it. This makes it possible for your body’s natural healing processes to fully restore your general well-being and energy levels.
Modern medical experts have seen that, following acupuncture treatment, there is an increased secretion of endorphins and other neurotransmitters, which are the body’s natural pain-killing hormones. Endorphins are essential for the hormonal system to work properly, which affects the body’s internal regulating systems and promotes the body’s natural healing capacity. For this reason, acupuncture is effective in treating pain and other internal health conditions in the body.
Some of the physiological effects observed throughout the body include increased circulation, decreased inflammation, relief from pain, relief from muscle spasms and increased T cell count which stimulates the immune system.
Moxibustion (30 – 60 minutes)
Moxibustion (moxa) is an ancient form of heat therapy that uses heat from burning preparations of the herb Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort) to stimulate the circulation and to invigorate the flow of “life force,” or “Qi” in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences.
Cupping therapy (20 minutes)
Cupping therapy is an ancient technique of healing. Cupping is performed by applying cups to selected skin points and creating a subatmospheric pressure, either by heat or by suction. Effects of cupping therapy include promotion of the skin’s blood flow, changing of the skin’s biomechanical properties, increasing pain thresholds, reducing inflammation, and modulation of the cellular immune system.
Cupping therapy has been used for health promotion, preventive, and therapeutic purposes. Cupping therapy has reported benefits in the treatment of lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headache and migraine, knee pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis.
