At TAPOVANA, we practice Ayurveda, which is an ancient Indian system of medicine that has been in use for over 5,000 years. It is a holistic approach to health and wellness that seeks to balance the mind, body, and spirit. The word “Ayurveda” comes from the Sanskrit language and means “the science of life” or “the knowledge of longevity.”

The basis of Ayurveda is the idea that everything in the universe, including humans, is made up of five elements (panchamahabhutas): air (vayu), water (jala), fire (agni), earth (pratvi), and ether (akasha). These elements combine to form three doshas, or energies, that are present in every individual: Vata (air and ether), Pitta (fire and water), and Kapha (water and earth). Each person has a unique combination of doshas that determines their physical, mental, and emotional characteristics, as well as their susceptibility to diseases.

Ayurveda aims to promote health and prevent disease by restoring balance to the doshas through a combination of diet, lifestyle changes, and herbal remedies. Treatment plans are personalized to each individual based on their unique dosha balance and health needs.

She carries 50,000 plus hours of practical experience in Ayurveda. She has been associated with reputed organizations like Birla Ayurveda – Mumbai, Kalpavruksha – Mumbai, Nu Ayurveda – Mumbai, Thonse Health Center – Udupi & KRAMCH – Kundapura, She has published many articles about Ayurveda in Times of India, Deccan Chronicles, Asian Age, Health Shots, etc.

Dr Shriram Murtugudde hails from Dharwad of Karnataka, India. He has graduated from Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda, Udupi Karnataka. Completed post-graduation from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, in the Dept of Samhita & Siddhanta (Ayurveda Literature). He has been a registered Ayurveda practitioner, serving experience of 17,500 plus hours & 6,000 hours of teaching experience at Ayurveda Colleges. He carries exceptional knowledge in Brihat Trayees (Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita & Astanga Hridaya).

Dr Saritha T hails from Udupi District of Karnataka, graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, and completed post-graduation from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science in the Dept of Roganidana. She has serving experience of 11,000 plus hours & 29,500 hours of teaching experience at various Ayurveda Colleges across the country. To her career Dr Saritha T, carries an exceptional knowledge in the arena of Roganidana (Pathology).
